Clubbell Training
The Clubbell is the weight training tool of choice amongst those practicing CST. With it’s displaced center of mass the clubbell creates an extreme leverage challenge that can not be duplicated with standard weightlifting equipment. Training with clubbells involves swinging the weight, rather than lifting it. To increase the training effect you can simply hold the clubbell closer to the knob end (which has the same effect as adding more weight) or swing it faster (which produces more force). You will not only build muscle training this way but your joints and connective tissues will become healthier as an added bonus. Clubbell training is Tri-Planar which means your body will be moving in 3 dimensions. This is the way we were born to move. Clubbel training will increase soft tissue elasticity rather than traumatizing it which is common when practicing the one and two-dimensional movements seen in traditional weightlifting programs where much of the technique involves isolating the movement of a single joint over a very short range of motion.
The physical and mental challenge of clubbell swinging took my fitness to a high level in a very short period of time. There are seemingly endless variations of exercises that can be done from very simple to extremely complex. Your imagination is your only limitation. I can think of no other form of weight training that is as fluid, powerful and produces the kind of results that clubbell training does.
