Books
Three essential texts
Free To Move
Free To Move is the written manual for the Intu-Flow® joint mobility program. At almost 400 pages this is a great resource for anyone wanting to gain a deeper understanding of Intu-Flow® and CST. The first section of the book is a bit of the history behind Intu-Flow® . Coach Sonnon talks about some of the personal experiences he had that ultimately helped him develop the Intu-Flow® system. Other interesting parts of the book touch on subjects such as; The Six Degrees of Freedom, Biotensegrity, Stretching and problems associated with it, and The Myofascial Matrix. The second half of the book goes through the exercises and lists some common emotional issues that could possibly contribute to aches and pain you may be experiencing in an area of the body. The book is very thorough, I find myself referencing it often.
The Big Book of Clubbell Training
This is more than just a book with a bunch of clubbell exercises, much more. There are 275 pages packed with information about CST and it’s fitness standards, the evolution and history of club swinging, the three dimensional performance pyramid, intuitive training and much more. The book covers many CST principals that can be applied to training not only with clubbells but any tool you might be using. The information pertaining to clubbells specifically starts on page 80 and covers topics such as; mechanics (which of course includes the 7 key components of structure), basic positions, breathing, exercises, and sample training programs. This book is a must have for anyone serious about clubbell training.
Prasara Yoga: Flow Beyond Thought
Flow, stretching, fear reactivity, mobility, compensatory movement, what are these terms that you hear so often when reading about CST? The prasara book covers these topics and many more. Yoga has been around for centuries and many books on the subject can be confusing if you don’t have a basic understanding of yoga. This book is written with the intent to introduce readers to the flow yoga Coach Sonnon has dubbed “Prasara”. The last 50 pages is a step by step guide to the five “A” series prasra flows you will already be familiar with if you’ve purchased the Prasara DVD
