Welcome to Circular Strength Training New York. My name is Dean McCormick and I am a certified CST Instructor and CST Kettlebell Specialist. CST is the fitness system developed by Coach Scott Sonnon. Over the last ten years or so CST has evolved and reached a level of sophistication that far surpasses most, if not all of what would be considered “mainstream fitness”. I’ve tried a lot of different training modalities over the years moving from one to another for various reasons. When I came across CST it was like discovering another life-form. It didn’t take long for me to realize there was something unique and brilliant about the entire system. I jumped in head-first and after a short time I became addicted to the well planned and very challenging programs that Coach Sonnon had developed. Each one of these programs plays a part in the deep (deeper than I’d ever imagined) CST system.

CST is a mixture of ancient and modern exercise “technology”. There are elements of yoga which I have practiced on and off many years. Clubbell training, an ancient form of exercise I had seen in videos but had never tried because I didn’t know where to get the equipment or how to go about learning. And lastly,  joint mobility, which I had recently discovered but wasn’t quite sure how to practice in a way that made sense. Now, at 46 years old after practicing CST for about two and a half years I feel healthier, stronger, and can move better than I did when I was in my 30′s.

As a recently certified CST Instructor my goal is to help others who are looking to make improvements in their health through a form of training that is fun, effective, and sustainable. I feel the CST system is the best way to reach your fitness goal no matter what your current condition is.

CST Ring Training

Gold Medal Bodies is a curriculum of strength training courses that emphasize practicing gymnastic skills with the goal of developing practical strength for fitness and sport.

CST training integrates joint mobility training, three-dimensional strength exercises, and compensatory movement for recovery.
